  • Lumina Sustainable Materials A/S is looking for an electrician to join our anorthosite mine at Qaqortorsuaq – approximately 80 km from Kangerlussuaq. You’ll become part of a small, highly skilled maintenance team that keeps the machinery running in Greenland’s only open-pit mine.

    A unique working life in the Greenlandic wilderness
    At the mine, you’ll work for four weeks at a time followed by four weeks off. You’ll live comfortably in a single room with a private bathroom, and all meals are prepared by professional chefs in the camp’s canteen. We cover all transport to and from your hometown.

    As an electrician, you’ll play a key role in the team, contributing to repairs and scheduled maintenance of the processing and crushing facilities.

    Your tasks may include:
    • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems
    • Maintaining installations and control systems
    • Collaborating across disciplines with welders and other team members

    We expect that you:
    • Are a certified electrician or have equivalent technical qualifications
    • Have experience with industrial installations
    • Hold a valid driver’s license that allows you to drive standard cars

    Practical information:
    • Working hours: 12 hours a day, 7 days a week during rotation
    • Rotation: 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off

You’ll become part of a small, highly skilled maintenance team that keeps the machinery running in Greenland’s only open-pit mine.

    We expect that you:
    • Are a trained metalworker/welder or have equivalent technical experience

  • Would you like to be part of an international team in the heart of Greenland? Would you like to work for four weeks and then have two weeks off?
    Lumina Sustainable Materials A/S is looking for experienced process operators for our anorthosite mine at White Mountain.

    A unique working life in the Greenlandic wilderness
    At the mine, you will work in four-week shifts followed by two weeks off. You will become part of a strong community of 25–30 colleagues – mostly from Greenland, but also from the rest of Scandinavia and abroad.
    We provide transport to and from your hometown. You’ll stay comfortably in a private room with an en-suite bathroom, and all meals are prepared by professional chefs in the camp cafeteria.

    We are currently hiring:
    Process Operators
    As a process operator, you will be one of three people responsible for the processing plant. Your work includes monitoring operations, responding to faults, and ensuring that production runs safely and smoothly. This is hands-on work where a broom and shovel are used just as often as tools and measuring instruments.

    Your tasks will include:

    • Supervision and physical work in the processing plant

    • Maintenance and replacement of equipment such as screens and rollers

    • Assisting with ship loading

    • Troubleshooting and urgent repairs in case of breakdowns

    You will report to the process manager and work in shifts, as the plant operates 24/7.

    It is an advantage if you:

    • Have experience from a quarry, factory, or other production environment

    • Are trained as a marine engineer, blacksmith, or electrician

    • Are skilled with your hands – able to weld and perform repairs

    • Are physically fit and enjoy practical work

    • Are reliable, independent, and ready to take responsibility

    Lumina Sustainable Materials A/S is looking for a Laboratory Technician for our anorthosite mine at White Mountain / Qaqortorsuaq – approximately 80 km from Kangerlussuaq. This position plays a key role in quality control and production monitoring in the mine’s laboratory.

    You will work in four-week shifts followed by two weeks off. You’ll be part of a professional and skilled environment where your contribution is essential to our analysis and quality efforts. We provide transport to and from your hometown. You’ll stay comfortably in a private room with your own bathroom, and all meals are prepared by professional chefs in the camp cafeteria.

    We are currently hiring:
    Laboratory Technician
    In this role, you will be responsible for performing various analyses and laboratory tasks related to feldspar – including particle size distribution and XRF analyses. You will follow standard laboratory procedures and contribute to operational reliability and data quality in both production and exploration.

    Your tasks will include:

    • Performing lab analyses, including particle size, moisture content, and XRF

    • Operating lab equipment: crushers, sieves, mills, and analytical instruments

    • Preparing samples: drying, weighing, homogenizing, grinding, labeling

    • Sampling from production and receiving and registering samples

    • Entering and organizing data in Excel or laboratory software

    We expect that you:

    • Hold an upper secondary school diploma or equivalent

    • Have at least 2 years of experience in a lab or production environment (an advantage)

    • Work in a structured manner and follow procedures with precision

    • Have solid IT skills, especially in Excel and Word

    We are currently hiring:
    Heavy Equipment Operators
    Do you have experience operating large construction equipment – such as excavators (+25 tons), dump trucks (+30 tons), or wheel loaders?
    Are you able to work in all weather conditions – including the Arctic winter?

    Your tasks will include:

    • Loading ore in the pit with a 35-ton excavator

    • Driving dump trucks

    • Snow clearing and road maintenance with wheel loaders

    • Performing physical outdoor tasks as needed

    We expect that you:

    • Have solid experience with heavy machinery

    • Work independently, accurately, and safely – even in tough weather

    • Hold a relevant driver’s license and possibly have a background as a miner

    • Are responsible, reliable, and bring a positive attitude to your work

  • Lumina Sustainable Materials A/S is hiring a geology student for a summer job in Greenland

    For our open-pit mine at Qaqortorsuaq near Kangerlussuaq, we are looking for a geology assistant for the summer of 2025. This position is ideal for a geology student with an interest in fieldwork and raw materials production.

    About the Job
    Your main task will be cutting diamond drill cores from previous exploration campaigns. You may also assist with laboratory and fieldwork tasks.

    The work takes place at our mine at Qaqortorsuaq, where Lumina holds an exclusive exploitation license for the mineral anorthosite (calcium feldspar). The material is processed into Greenspar and Anocrete, which contribute to a greener construction and materials industry. The production meets strict environmental standards and involves no chemicals or water. Learn more at www.lumina.gl.

    The Team and Work Environment
    We are approximately 25 people on-site, mainly from Greenland, with a few international employees. You will report to the site manager and the mine geologist.

    Your Responsibilities Include:

    • Cutting and handling diamond drill cores

    • Verifying and labeling core boxes and sample tags

    • Packing and preparing samples for laboratory analysis

    • Lifting and moving sample boxes (22–30 kg)

    • Performing routine maintenance on saws and equipment

    • Following quality control and safety procedures

    • Working collaboratively with your team and sharing information

    • Contributing to a safe and respectful work culture

    We Expect That You:

    • Can work independently and as part of a team

    • Have experience with similar tasks or camp life (preferred, not required)

    • Hold a valid driver’s license (category B – required)

    • Have first aid certification or knowledge of work safety (an advantage)

    • Speak, read, and understand Greenlandic or Danish

    • Can understand English for safety reasons

    Employment Terms

    • Period: Mainly from July to September 2025

    • Working hours: 12 hours a day, 7 days a week

    • Lumina covers travel and accommodation between the mine and the nearest airport to your home

    • Salary and other conditions depend on your qualifications and are based on current Greenlandic agreements

    • You will have a private room with en-suite bathroom and meals provided in the site canteen
